Japan Candy Box March 2022 “Big 7th Birthday Bash” Review + Giveaway

The theme of the January box is “Big 7th Birthday Bash”! Japan Candy is celebrating their 7th Birthday!
They also include an info sheet that has details on each of the treats and snacks included in the box. This box has 10 snacks inside!
Here is our first peek into the box!
Now, let's take a closer look at each treat!
Crisp Choco Flakes
I wasn't sure I would like a souped up cereal treat, but these chocolate treats were quite delicious! They were basically flakes of chocolate cereal infused with a chocolate syrup, and I thought they were a nice change from your average chocolate bar.
Adult Jagariko Yakitori Potato Snacks
These was a savory unami snack that had a grilled chicken skewer flavor. We didn't particularly like the taste, but some people might! Calbee is a popular brand in the Asian snack aisle. Each crunchy stick is covered with the umami-rich flavor of Japanese grilled chicken and special Japanese seasoning, giving it a distinctive combination of tastes.
Alfort Premium Pistachio Chocolate Biscuits
These chocolate covered biscuits had a slight hint of pistachio. I thought the pistachio flavor would be overwhelming, but they weren't! The biscuit itself was pretty soft, and the chocolate was a nice thickness. I'm not sure if I could eat an entire pack in one sitting, but they're definitely good!
Koikeya Garlic and Hashed Potato Snacks
These potato snacks were my favorite savory treat in the box. They were a cross between a crispy hash brown and potato chip, with a strong garlic flavor. I really enjoyed them, and they would be great as crunchy snack in the afternoon or evening.
Bourbon Petit Strawberry Biscuits
These Oreo like strawberry biscuits were just delicious! They had a strawberry cream flavor and were so tiny and cute at the same time! These were soft and chewy cookies with a delicious strawberry flavor. We loved them!
Umaibo Teriyaki Burger Snack Stick
This is a puffed corn stick that has the unami flavor of a teriyaki burger. We didn't care for this snack as much. The teriyaki flavor was a bit too strong for us, but may have been a hit for someone else.
Strawberry Shortcake Corn Stars
My boys really loved these puffed corn stars. They have a strawberry shortcake chocolate covering, and they did have a nice, airy texture! These puffs are a super well-loved treat in Japan.
Kit Kat Bars – Milk Tea Mini-Bar, Adult Sweetness White Mini-Bar, and Whole Grain Biscuit Mini-Bar
These Japanese Kit Kat Bars tasted quite different from the Kit Kats we are used to here in the US. The Milk Tea Mini-Bar is exclusive to Japan and tasted like Royal Milk Tea with a Black Tea flavor. The Adult Sweetness White Mini-Bar has deeper flavors and is made with finely crushed black biscuits and milk, covered in a white chocolate coating. The Whole Grain Biscuit Mini-Bar was my favorite. It is made with whole grains – crushed wheat biscuits that help provide a unique crunchy texture!
Wrap Up
Overall, the Japan Candy March 2022 Box was a great way to try out some new and delicious Japanese snacks! The variety was excellent, and the quality of the snacks was really good. We especially loved the Crisp Choco Flakes, Koikeya Garlic and Hashed Potato Snacks, and Bourbon Petit Strawberry Biscuits. The Japanese Kit Kat Bars were quite unique and also fun to try!
