Here's a view of everything that we go

Piquant Post Indonesian Satay + Chicken Satay Recipe

Satay is a style of grilling marinated meats over a fire on wood skewers. Chicken Satay is the national dish of Indonesia but has become popular over the world – it is often served in Southeast Asian restaurants. This recipe introduces you to a popular soy dipping sauce called ‘Kecap Manis', which gives you a smoky, salty, and sweet satay. You can cook this recipe on the grill or using your oven broiler. If you don't eat chicken, you can also sub shrimp, beef, or veggies as an alternative.

This Indonesian Satay includes coriander, nutmeg, paprika, cumin, white pepper, tumeric, onion, and garlic. It was packed in August 2019 and we got it in September, so this satay spice blend is pretty fresh!

Piquant Post Turmeric Gold Spice Blend + Balinese Pan-Seared Fish Recipe

You can amp up the flavor of pan-seared fish with Piqant Post's proprietary Balinese-inspired Turmeric Gold spice blend. Turmeric is know for having anti-inflammatory properties and is also the backbone of many Asian curries and other sauces. This recipe also uses a Vietnamese dipping sauce called Nuoc Cham.

This Turmeric Gold spice blend has turmeric, garlic, onion, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, cinnamon, and fenugreek.

Piqant Post Bumbu Bali Spice Blend + Indonesian Beef Rendang

The Indoneisian Beef Rendang reciped is a coconut beef stew. This Bumbu Bali Spice Blend is traditionally made by hand-grinding whole dried spices with aromatics such as lemongrass, shallots, garlic, ginger, and other exotic ingredients. The beef is browned and gently braised in coconut milk to produce tender, delicious bites packed with exotic flavor.

This Bumbu Bali Spice Blend includes turmeric, coriander, ginger, cinnamon, cardamom, cayenne pepper, cumin, white pepper, and bay leaf.

Piquant Post Bali BBQ Spice Blend + Bali BBQ Tenderloin Recipe

This BBQ recipe was inspired by local spices and flavors, including coffee, which is a major crop in Indonesia. This spice blend starts with a medium roast arabica coffee bean to add a nutty but delicate coffee taste. You can use this spice blend with pork chops or ribs, but you can also use it on steaks, poultry, or veggies.

This Bali BBQ spice blend includes arabica coffee, smoked paprika, coriander, nutmeg, giner, star anise, onion, cloves, and cayenne pepper.

Final Thoughts

Piquant Post brought us some great spices and recipes from Indonesia and Asia that we wouldn't normally have in our menu rotation. I'm super excited to try them and will update this post with the tastes and flavors that these spice blends promise. We are most excited to try the Chicken Satay and Balinese Pan-Seared Fish recipes. I really don't incorporate enough fish into my diet so this spice blend and recipe gives me no excuse!
