This chess book has the all the tips you need to be a master chess player. It helps, when you have a brand new chess set, to also get strategies to play chess like a pro.
It teaches you the fundamentals of playing chess, as well as more advanced tips and tricks. You'll also learn about the psychology of beating your other player!
Bespoke Post Checkmate Chess Set – $55
I didn't do a lot of research on this chess set before I bought it, but I had no idea it was a magnetic chess set! The magnetic part of this set is really helpful for travel – like a plane ride or road trip!
Magnetic sets are perfect for my household with 3 kids – as games often get moved and ruined – having magnets to keep the chess pieces in place really helps a lot!
The wood on this chess set is really nice. The chess board was handcrafted in India from sheesham and boxwood.
When I opened the chess board, I was delightfully surprised to see the wood chess pieces neatly tucked into the back of the board!
Here a closer shot of the storage compartment for the chess pieces. There are magnets that keep the box closed, too.
I am really loving the detailed wood carving of each piece! You can tell these were handmade with a lot of care.
The two colors of the chess pieces are a light wood and a darker wood.
After taking some pieces out, you can see the cut-outs in the foam for the pieces.
Here's another look at the board. The alternating wood patter is really gorgeous and each wooden square is unique.
