Darn Good Yarn Review: November 2018
The Darn Good Yarn Subscription Box sends you a skein of premium yarn, a knit and crochet pattern, and a mystery gift!
Price: $10/month
Shipping: $3.95
Here is the actual subscription box:
I love the purple box color and the witty yarn quotes on the sides of the box.
I would agree that I craft hard and sometime sweat glitter!
Here's a first look into the box.
I am loving the rainbow colored yarn!
The info booklet shows you what kind of yarn you get, the length, knit guage, and crochet gauge. You also get a peek at the extra gift, which in this box are 2 knitting needles and a crochet hook.
The booklet shows the knitting pattern for a Snow Big Deal Cowl (easy pattern)…
… and the crochet pattern for Ripples Neckwear (intermediate pattern).
Worsted Weight Roving Silk Yarn – Watercolors
This worsted weight roving silk yarn is really beautiful! I love how colorful it is!
It really is silky and you can tell it is hand-spun and hand dyed. All of this work was done in India by Darn Good Yarn's co-op partners.
This yarn has a 4-5 mm knit gauge, 5.5 – 6.5 mm crochet gauge and should be hand washed.
Darn Good Yarn Ombre Knitting Needles and Crochet Hook Pack
The knitting needles and crochet hook are packaged nicely in a gift box. These needles and hook are hand crafted and dyed a Darn Good Yarn purple color by their cooperatives in India.
The knitting needs are size 8 US. I'm loving the DGY purple dye!
The crochet hook is size 5 mm. Both are perfect for the Watercolors yarn that was included in this box!
Darn Good Yarn Wooden Yarn Bowl
If you order the Darn Good Yarn Bowl, it comes in a neatly packaged box.
This bowl is made out of Sheeshmam wood and is hand carved! The bowl costs $27 on Darn Good Yarn's website and must be purchased with something else on their site.
Here'a another look at how beautiful this bowl is.
And here's a full look at the inside of the bowl. Who wouldn't want to keep their yarn in this little beauty!
The back of this yarn bowl is engraved with the Darn Good Yarn logo.
We absolutely adored this November's Darn Good Yarn subscription and the wooden yarn bowl!
Darn Good Yarn would make a great gift for the knitter or crochet lover in your life. My 11-year old daughter loves finger knitting, so this would be a great subscription for kids too!
