Today, we are reviewing Kiwi Co's Santa's Sleigh Automaton. If you don't know what an “automaton” is, it is defined as a moving mechanical device made in imitation of a human being.

KiwiCo Santa’s Sleigh Automon Review
My son and I were super excited to see this box arrive on our doorstep! This was especially great timing because my 8-year old son was looking to spend time with me, and crafting is the perfect activity for both of us!
Here's our first peek into the box! There are a lot of wooden pieces and felt.
We got a color booklet that has all of the instructions for this craft.
The booklet showed all of the materials included in this crate.
The color pictures and instructions were really easy for my son to follow on his own.
Here's a closer look at the materials we used for the Santa's Sleigh Automaton.
He started by adhering self adhesive foam pieces to the smaller wood pieces.
Then he connected these pieces to the larger wood stand piece.

The next part was to adhere more red foam to these wooden circles.
The wooden circles help with the movement of the reindeer and Santa, which you'll see shortly!
There were acrylic sticks that are used in part of making the reindeer and Santa move.
The white felt was put in place over the acrylic sticks.
Then, these adorable felt reindeer where attached to the acrylic sticks with adhesive strips.
And we can't forget Santa and his sleigh full of toys, of course!
Next, Santa's reins were attached to his reindeer using this red and white floss.
Next, my son worked on sticking the felt background to the Christmas night sky. How cute is this background?!
The background added the perfect touch to making this scene look realistic.
And here is the finished product!
To make this move, all my son did was turn the crank at the base of this automon.
He really loved watching Santa and his reindeer dance through the night sky! This also made a great Christmas decoration for our home!
