Atlas Coffee Club August 2019 Review

Atlas Coffee Club sends their coffee in a cute white box with black lettering. How adorable is this box?!

Here's our first peek into the box! We are reviewing the 12 once subscription which is $14/month.

The design on the coffee bag is beautiful. Most of my store bought coffee bags are filled with brand logos and marketing – but this one is not!

The side of the coffee bag has the single sourced country of origin. This coffee is from Rwanda. Rwanda coffee is often known for its delicate tasting coffee with pleasant sweet, caramelly aromas and hints of citrus (lemon, orange).

Atlas Coffee is roasted in Austin, Texas, and the package shows you that each batch of coffee is roasted to order.

The flavor notes card tells you about Rwanda's coffee history. Rwanda is known for producing some of the world's highest grade coffee. It has rich volcanic soils, high altitude, and a sunny tropical climate. This coffee was grown in the Karaba Village region at 1600 meters of altitude.

The tasting notes show that this is a full-body coffee with low acidity and notes of dark chocolate and red fruit that is somewhat wine-like. We are trying the medium roast level of ground coffee.

Here is the postcard showing a mountainous scene in Rwanda.

The back of the postcard talks about so many fun places you can experience in Rwanda, including Volcanoes National Park, the bright streets of Kigali for a tour of the city's renowned street art, Kimironko Market, the Congo Nile Trail, tea plantations, coffee washing stations, and shimmering inland beaches.

Here's our first peek into the bag of coffee. The aroma of this coffee was amazingly fresh and rich!

Here's another look at the freshly roasted coffee grounds.

For fresh ground coffee, I use my trusty Hamilton Beach Single Serve Coffee Maker since I am the only coffee drinker in the house. You can also use a reusable k-cup to brew this coffee in your Keurig Coffee Maker as well.

After brewing our coffee, we got a nice dark, coffee ready for cream and tasting!

Our coffee creamer made this coffee look oh so delicious!

This coffee tasted really fresh, rich, deep, and wonderful! I could taste the notes of dark chocolate and red fruit. I especially loved that this coffee was low acid, given my system is a bit sensitive to highly acidic coffees.

The Verdict

I really liked trying the Atlas Coffee Club this month. The coffee was super fresh and had a really rich, amazing taste. If you're up for trying new premium coffees, Atlas Coffee Club makes it really easy for you by finding the world's best single sourced coffees. I think Atlas Coffee Club would make a great gift for anyone who loves (or dreams of) great coffee!

Tips: I've heard if you like light roast coffee, you may want to try the medium roast. I think this tip is spot on, as I usually like lighter roasts, but really enjoyed the medium roast.
