Annie’s CardMaker Kit-of-the-Month Club July 2020 Review “Wedded Bliss”
Annie's sends their monthly card kits in a purple mailer.
Here's our first peek at this month's kit. Ahhh – summer is wedding season! The July theme is “Wedded Bliss”.
Each month you'll get an instruction booklet with color photos. It looks like we're going to be making some pretty elegant wedding cards!
The inside of the booklet shows you everything that is included in this kit. The “Wedded Bliss” Card Kit includes:
- Cards
- Envelopes
- Foil Cardstock
- Cardstock
- Embossed patterned papers
- Foil patterned papers
- Die-cut sheets
- Foil Stickers
- Ribbons
- Adhesive Pearls
- Adhesive “Rainstones”
- Self-cling rubber stamps
You will also need the Cardmaker Tool Kit (which is included with your first shipment and has a bone folder, stamp block, ruler, etc.), scissors or a paper cutter, a black stamp pad or black marker, adhesive, and foam adhesive dots.
My favorite paper cutter is this Fiskars Rotary Trimmer and favorite adhesive to use is Tombow Mono Adhesive Applicator. I also like StazOn ink pads for black ink. I just purchased this We R Memory Keepers Stamping Tool to make my stamping more precise. Annie's does include a stamp block in the tool kit that you get in your first month.
There are detailed instructions on each page, with all the dimensions you need to cut the card stock and patterned paper.
This month, Annie's gives you instructions to make 4 different wedding cards, but they include enough materials to make your own designs, too.
Embossed Patterned Papers and Foiled Pattern Papers
These are really high quality papers and the foil and embossing makes these papers so chic!
Foil Stickers and Die Cut Sheets
These foil stickers and die cut sheets will be used to embellish our cards with gold leaves, lettering, and paper flowers.
Cards, Envelopes, Self-Cling Stamps, Gold Ribbon, and Adhesive Pearls & Rainstones
The font on these rubber stamps have so much variety and elegance. I am loving the gold adhesive pearls and rainstones (not shown here).
Now, I'll show you what I made with all of these card making materials!
“Love is in the Air” Card
This card is one of my favorite designs from this kit! I used the white die cut flowers, curled them with my bone folder, and stacked smaller flowers on the base with glue. Then I used the gold leaf and flower stickers to embellish the flowers, as well a s the gold adhesive pearls. I stamped the white cardstock with a “Love is in the Air” message, and the gold foil border adds so much interest to this card.
“Congratulations” Card
This is a very simple card made with the white flower embossed paper, layered with the gold foil cardstock in the background. I used the gold ribbon to tie a bow around the gold foil cardstock, and then embellished the card with the white adhesive pearls. So simple and so lovely!
“Best Wishes” Card
This is my second favorite card design in the Wedded Bliss kit. It uses a silver theme, with silver foil patterned paper, the white flower embossed paper, and the silver rainstones. I used the included “Best Wishes” stamp to create the message on the front of the card. This is another beautiful card!
“Love” Card
This “Love” Card uses the gold foil patterned paper with the word “love” repeating on the paper. For the first time in my life, I learned how to tie a double bow and it was super easy once I understood how to do it. Annie's provides video tutorials for their card making kits, so that helps quite a bit!
The next set of cards use the leftover materials included in this kit. These are my own designs!
“On Your Anniversary” Card
I used the same paper flower layering technique used in the first card in this kit. I thought it would be good to have an anniversary card, and fortunately those stamps were already included. I used the silver foil patterned paper, and the white embossed flower paper.
“Love and Laughter” Card
For this card, I used the heart vine gold foil patterned paper, the white flower embossed paper, and the gold ribbon (again using the double bow technique). The bow was adhered using some tacky glue. I added the Love and Laughter stamp – it make this card elegant and simple!
“Happily Ever After” Card
This is a silver themed card that uses the silver foil cardstock, the silver foil patterned paper, and the silver rainstones. “Happily Ever After” is a nice message for the newly wedded couple who is going to receive this card!
“Happy Wedding Day” Card
The last card I made was this Happy Wedding Day Card. It uses the gold foil heart stickers, gold pearls and gold foil card stock int the background. This would be another lovely card for the Mr. & Mrs. to be!
In Summary
There is nothing more special than receiving a handmade card for your wedding day. I really loved the elegant foil cardstock, patterned paper, adhesive pearls/rainstones, ribbon, and die cuts used to make these beautiful wedding cards. This wedding card kit is one of my favorite Annie's CardMaker-of-the-Month kits, hands down! You know you've got a quality card making kit when the cards you make look like they were store bought!
