Degusta Box sent us a huge and heavy box full of goodies! We were sent this box for review purposes.

The January Degusta Box Theme is “New Year – New Me”. Given what I see in the box, there are some items that are focused on eating healthier: MaraNatha packets, Vitabella Strawberry Pillows Cereal, and Lo Tortilla Factory Low Carb Tortillas!

Let's get on with what's in the box!

Vitabella Strawberry Pillows Snack – $5.99

I expected a crunchy cereal type of texture, but it was really soft like a pillow! The strawberry flavor was really amazing, and we really loved these! I love that these pillows are both organic, non-GMO, and gluten free. As a bonus, they are also vegan and soy free. They can be used as a stand alone snack, or as a breakfast cereal.

These La Tortilla Factory Low Carb Tortillas have a net carb count of only 6 grams! They taste like a regular tortilla and would be great for a diabetic or anyone on a low-carb diet!

Chocolat Frey Swiss Chocolate Dark Crunch Nut Bar – $3.29

This Frey Swiss Premium Chocolate bar has dark chocolate with hazelnuts – it is really velvety and smooth! The hazelnut is just the perfect amount and is a perfect complement to this sweet chocolate. This chocolate bar is made in Switzerland – and Swiss chocolate has never disappointed me!

These crackers have just the right amount of sale and would be perfect to pair with cheese or cream cheese as a snack. You could use them as a fancier cracker if you're hosting a party!

These MaraNatha Almond Butter samples give you a taste of what's in their larger size almond butter jars. I've like MaraNatha almond butter, but didn't know they had dark chocolate almond butter or caramel almond butter! It looks like these are new products from MaraNatha.

I was expecting more, but the coconut almond butter was bland and needed a little more coconut flavor. The dark chocolate almond butter was okay but not what I expected – I'll stick with Nutella. The caramel almond butter had too much of an artificial taste.

Okay, I have to admit that I haven't had instant mashed potatoes in a very long time, but these potatoes had a really nice flavor! I especially like the cheddar and sour cream mashed potatoes. These would be convenient if you're traveling and have access to a microwave or stove, and need a convenient, quick side dish. These would probably also work well for a busy college student.

These Michel et Augustin Cookie Squares are quite a treat! The chocolate blends nicely with the outside crust, and the nuts are like a icing on a cake! My kids loved these!

These Vanilla Chai Chip tasted like a vanilla chai latte, but in a crunchy chip! I'm loving that these chips are both organic and gluten-free.

I haven't heard of Smash Krispy before, but these marshmallow rice treats sure beat pre-packaged rice krispie treats! The cinnamon churro was pretty good, but we really liked the Strawberries & Cream Smash Crispy – the strawberry flavor was amazing!

Okay, my kids have recently been into tasting hot sauce. They tried this Sweet Baby Ray's Hot Sauce with the Partners crackers and their mouths were on fire! If you're into really spicy hot sauces, then this sauce would be for you. Our family is more used to the milder Frank's Red Hot Sauce – but I would say we're wimps/novices in the hot sauce department.

In Summary

We really liked most of the products in the January Degusta Box. Our favorites were was the Vitabella Strawberry Pillow snacks, the La Tortilla Low Carb Tortillas, the Frey Swiss Dark Crunchy Nut chocolate bar. The only product that was lacking was the MaraNatha almond butters. For $19.99, January Degusta Box subscribers got an estimated retail value of $37.40 and new products they may have not otherwise found. We love discovering new foods with food subscription boxes.
