Stitch Fix Kids Boys Review September 2020

Today, we are reviewing Stitch Fix Kids! My 10-year old son wanted to try out the service – he loves getting new clothes! I myself am also a fan of Stitch Fix and have reviewed the Women's Fix before.

About Stitch Fix Kids

Stitch Fix Kids will hand select 8-12 pieces of clothing for your child based on your child's style preferences and your price range. Clothing pieces start at just $10. If you keep everything in your box, you'll get a 25% discount off everything.

You just need to pay a $20 styling fee per box, which will be credited towards anything your kid keeps. No subscription is required, and shipping is free both ways!

Stitch Fix Kids Boys Review September 2020

Our Stitch Fix Kids shipment came in a large square box with colorful Stitch Fix lettering.

Here is our first peek into the box! We got 10 pieces of clothing!

There is a welcome card containing some info about the Stitch Fix Kids fix.

All we have to do is pick the clothing that we want to keep, visit Stitch Fix's website within 3 days of receiving our items, and complete the online survey. In the survey, I'll let Stitch Fix know what I want to keep and what I don't want to keep. Then, I'll use the included mailer to send back items I didn't want – and the return shipping is free!

Here is the free return shipping bag that uses USPS Priority Mail as the shipping method.

They also included some fun stickers that appeal both to boys and girls. These are just in time to jazz up school notebooks and folders!

Stitch Fix included a note from Kaitlyn, our stylist, describing how she chose the clothing that she included in the box. When I filled out the survey, I chose my son's preferences as mostly athletic t-shirts and short. I also mentioned that my son loves to wear black. She even mentioned that he goes to baseball and basketball practice, and likes video games – which is true on all 3 points!

Now, let's get a closer look to see what we got in our box!

Adidas Short Sleeve Graphic Tee in Black (Size Small) – Retail Value $18 AND Under Armour Locker Short in Black (Size Small) – Retail Value $20

My son loves wearing black, so Stitch Fix heard me and included many black items, but also gave us a variety of other darker colors. He chose this Adidas t-shirt to try on first and really loves it!

My son also picked the Under Armour shorts to try on at the same time, and they fit perfectly. My son is on the smaller side, so I was impressed that Stitch Fix was able to get the sizing right for him. These shorts have a drawstring which helps with making sure these shorts have a snug fit!

Runway – The Active Colorblock Raglan in Blue (Size Medium) – Retail Value $18 AND Runway – The Active Slim Pant in Black (Size 8) – Retail Value $22

This Runway shirt was also another favorite for my son, and he normally wears brand name logos. I like that this one is a change, and is comfy to wear as well! It is soft and made of moisture wicking material – which is oh so important for my active 10-year old! This shirt was exclusively designed for Stitch Fix.

I wasn’t sure if my son was going to like these Runway slim pants, but he insisted on wearing them all day even though today is a 78 degree day! These pants are made of high quality moisture wicking material as well. They have a drawstring which is super helpful for my active boy.

RUMI + RYDER – The Everyday Short Sleeve Performance Polo in Burgundy (Size Medium) – Retail Value $18

RUMI + RYDER is one of Stitch Fix Kids's private label brands. This polo shirt comes in a Burgundy color with some black undertones. It is made of quick dry, moisture wicking material, which makes this shirt enticing for my son to wear. He, of course, will only wear a collared shirt for special occasions, and this will be great for him to wear for school pictures (if we ever make it back to school this year!). This is exclusively designed activewear by Stitch Fix.

RUMI + RYDER – The Classic Long Sleeve Raglan Performance Henley in Teal Green (Size Medium) – Retail Value $18

My son also doesn’t like wearing henleys, but he thought this material was super comfortable. It is quick dry and moisture wicking too. I like that this Henley style gives my son some new looks (other than t-shirts with brand name logos!). The teal green and grey colors go really well together. This shirt was exclusively designed for Stitch Fix.

RUMI + RYDER – The Classic Long Sleeve Cozy Raglan in Olive (Size Medium) – Retail Value $18

This is also a super comfy, soft sweater in olive green. My son also liked the comfort of this sweater, and he doesn’t normally wear sweaters! This sweater needs to be washed in cold water, and line dried, but hopefully it will make it through our normal warm wash and dry cycles, because I can’t keep track of different pieces of clothes. Maybe my 10-year old can handle that type of responsibility now – we’ll see! 🙂

RUMI + RYDER – The Classic Cozy Raglan Hoodie Pullover in Light Grey (Size Medium) – Retail Value $20

This grey hoodie has super soft material – my son said it was so comfortable! He normally balks at wearing long sleeves (even in the winter!), but I think he wants to wear this hoodie to bed tonight! I really like the style and the soft material, too.

Under Armour Short Sleeve Raglan Tech Tee in Grey (Size Small) – Retail Value $20

This tech tee from Under Armour was again, a hit for my son! It has the bold black Under Armour logo and a cool grey color that pairs nicely with black shorts! 🙂 It also has a moisture wicking material – which again, are generally the kinds of shirts my son likes to wear.

Threads 4 Thought Tri Blend Zip Fleece Hoodie in Dark Grey (Size Medium) – Retail Value $24

This zip fleece hoodie from Threads 4 Thought is eco-friendly and is a Stitch Fix exclusive. It is grey flecked with black and white threads. The interior material is made of a soft fleece, and will he definitely use this quite a bit this fall and winter! This material is of very high quality and not what I would typically find in the store.

We also got a itemized sheet of the retail value of each piece of clothing.

In Summary

My 10-year old son was over the moon with each and every item that Stitch Fix Kids sent. While some of the pieces were a bit too big, he can grow into them and wanted to keep them. I was happy that he got a variety of styles, and colors that he would love to wear (other than black!). The materials in each and every piece of clothing was of high quality and made to last. My son is a fan of moisture wicking, quick dry material, so Stitch Fix Kids delivery by giving him shirts made of this kind of material. I’m happy that my son has some variety in his long and short-sleeve wardrobe, and we’re now ready for fall with some new, stylish shirts, pants, and shorts to add to his wardrobe! And even better, I didn't have to drag my son to the store for a “boring” shopping trip.

Retail Value: The retail value of the 10 items that we received was $196. If we keep all of of the items, which we will, then we get a 25% discount and this box will only cost $147! That’s only $14.70 on average per item, which is a steal for brands like Under Armour, Adidas, and these other high quality brands that I’m just getting introduced to!
