Here’s a quick peek at everything we got in our box! I loved seeing all of the green and yellow colors!

Each of the goodies comes neatly packaged either in shrink wrap or plastic recyclable cups! We also got info cards for each project, with allergen info on the back of each project card.

These are the St. Patrick’s Day themed sugar cookies. They are pre-baked, which I love! We got big and small shamrocks and pots of gold. There we 8 cookies in total.

Pre-made icing in piping bags were also included, with 3 colors: green, yellow, and white. They were taped off at the top so they wouldn’t dry out on their journey here from California! One of my least favorite parts of decorating cookies on my own is having to make the icing and mix food coloring in – it takes such a long time! I am so thankful these came like this so I don’t have to do ANY mixing! We also got 2 sheets of parchment paper – which was super convenient to use as placemats to make these projects!

There were so many sprinkles, colored sugar, and candy balls included – all in St. Patty’s Day’s colors. I especially loved the green candy balls and the tiny gold discs that look like gold coins!

We also got discs of melting chocolate in green and white colors. These were like Wilton candy melts that I have used in candy making in the past.

Also included were Corn Pops cereal. I haven’t had Corn Pops in a long time!

We also got a small bag of pretzels!

And finally, we got some paper cups and lollipop sticks.

Now, let’s get on to see how my kids fared in making each of the three projects in this box! I also got to decorate a couple of cookies myself!

First Project: Shamrock Pretzel Pops

Our first project was making the Shamrock Pretzel Pops.

Here are a couple of our finished Shamrock Pretzel Pops. Aren’t they just adorable?

My kids (who are 9, 11, and 13), were able to read the instructions themselves to figure out how to put these Shamrock Pops together. This project used the melting chocolate, pretzels, popsicle sticks, green candy balls, and St. Patrick's Day non pariels sprinkles that were included in the box. We also needed a spoon and a small microwave safe bowl.

The back of the project card lists the materials you need for the project and also has the allergen info. This is super important for me since we have a peanut and gluten allergy in our house!

My kids dipped each pretzel into the melted chocolate (which took about 60 seconds in my microwave to melt), and then stuck the pretzel to the lollipop stick. Some of our pretzels did arrive broken, but we had enough whole pretzels that each of my kids could make their own Shamrock pop.

After the 3 pretzels were arranged in the right spot to make a shamrock, my kids added the green candy ball in the middle and sprinkles, too!

After about 20 minutes, we were able to lift the Shamrock Pretzel Pop off the parchment paper!

I love how these shamrock “pops” turned out! My kids also loved how they tasted!

Second Project: Crispy Pot O’Gold Cups

Our second project was making the Crispy Pot O’Gold Cups.

Here are two of our finished Crispy Pot O’Gold Cups.  I love how they look like little gold pieces dressed up in festive St. Patty’s day chocolate and sprinkles!

This project used the melting chocolate, corn pops cereal, St. Patrick's day jimmies (or sprinkles), and paper cups that were included in the box. We also needed a spoon and a small microwave safe bowl.

After melting the chocolate in a microwave safe bowl, my kids took some of the corn pops and put them in the melted chocolate. They covered the corn pops with chocolate and then spooned them out into the small paper cups that were included. Then they decorated each cup with sprinkles.

if you've ever had chocolate covered popcorn, these chocolate covered corn pops taste very similar to that – so yummy! We may be making more of these in the future!

Third Project: St. Patrick’s Day Cookies

Our third and final project was decorating the St. Patrick’s Day themed Cookies.

Here are some of our decorated St. Patrick’s Day Cookies.  I think this decorating project was my kids’ favorite activity!

This project used the cookies , frosting, and sprinkles that were included in the box.

The icing bags were a little sticky on the outside, but my kids didn't seem to mind.

Since we decorate cookies every year at Christmas, my kids already knew how to use frosting to decorate cookies using piping bags. All we had to do it snip a tiny bit off the end of each piping bag to get this project going!

Gramma in a Box March 2021 Review St Patricks Day Treats 002

These icing bags had just enough frosting to decorate all of our cookies. We could have used a little more green icing, but had plenty of yellow icing left over!

My kids really enjoy decorating cookies, and being able to make them for a holiday or season is pure joy for them!

My 9-year old got really fancy with this cookie and even added some “LUCKY” lettering. I love how creative he got with his cookie decorating!

This is was one of the cookies that I made. I really wanted to use the rainbow sprinkles, so I put a little “rainbow” on this pot of gold cookie! Even though we go our box closer to the expiration date, the cookies still tasted delicious!

Wrap Up

My kids and I adored reviewing the March 2021 Gramma in a Box! We received 3 fun St. Patty's Day cookie and candy decorating projects with pretty much all the materials we needed to complete them! I love how Gramma in a Box made these projects so easy by including pre-made icing (already in piping bags) and made clean-up easy by including parchment paper. I have to say that the carefully chosen decorative sprinkles made all the difference in making these cookies and treats extra festive!

This was a great way for me and my kids to spend some family time together (away from screens!) and celebrate the season. These are Pinterest-worthy projects that I would not have thought to make, so I’m so glad Gramma in a Box thought of these project ideas for us! My kids really loved the taste of each and every sugary treat! This box was definitely a hit with my kids!
