Home Chef lets you pre-select the meals you want for the upcoming week. I was able to place my order and select my meals before Friday at noon, and I got my meals that Tuesday! I can tell you that this is super fast shipping time – other meal kit delivery services will make you place an order at least a week ahead of time.

Because I'm a busy working mom, I made sure to select meals that could be prepared in 30 minutes or less and were also kid-friendly.

Korean-Style Steak Tacos

The first healthy meal in this Home Chef Kit is Korean-Style Steak Tacos. I followed the step-by-step process in preparing this meal, and the first was to prepare the ingredients that they sent us.

For this meal, Home Chef provided me with 2 tsp. Sriracha, 1 cucumber, 1 shallot, 1 lime, 4 oz. Slaw Mix, .84 0z. Mayonnaise, 2 oz. Teriyaki Glaze, 6 small flour tortillas, and steak strips. I also needed olive oil and a medium non-stick pan. The recipe card is so easy to follow! The photos are handy and it's easy to spot each ingredient that is needed as they are marked in bold on the card.

After making the slaw, I cooked the steak strips for 4-6 minutes. I then heated the tortillas while stirring the steak strip in teriyaki glaze and sriracha for 3 minutes. I shaved the cucumber into long ribbons using a peeler and mixed it with the shallot-lime mixture after. Then I heated the tortillas for 30-60 seconds in the microwave, wrapped in a paper towel. I first put the steak strips with the tortillas, second the slaw mix, and lastly the pickled vegetables – and it’s done! It looks so yummy!

One-Pot Sweet Chili Lime Chicken

The second healthy Home Chef meal is this One-Pot Sweet Chili Lime Chicken. I think that this meal was the easiest one to prepare! For this meal, I used the ingredients they sent me: 5.6 fl. oz. coconut milk, 8 oz. green beans, 1 red bell pepper, 2 tsp. Garlic salt, 20 oz. diced boneless skinless chicken breasts, 4.oz. chili sauce, 2 green onions, 1 red onion, 1 lime, and 1 cup of jasmine rice. I also needed olive oil and a microwave-safe bowl.

I followed the step-by-step instruction on the recipe card, and here’s the finished meal! My kids loved this!

Chicken Caesar Mini Flatbreads

This kit’s last meal were the Chicken Caesar Mini Flatbreads. This meal looks so yummy and was easy to prepare! For this meal, I needed the included chicken, 1/2 oz. Baby Arugula, 3 oz. Shredded Mozarella, 1/2 oz. Shaved Parmesan, 1 Roma Tomato, 1 1/2 fl. oz. Parmesan Peppercorn Dressing and 4 Mini Naan Flatbreads.

I followed the step-by-step instructions on the recipe card. And here’s the finished chicken Caesar mini flat bread! I like that the baby arugula on the top still looks so fresh – like it’s freshly harvested!

Wrap Up

I really liked my first Home Chef meal kit box. They sent me healthy, nutritious, kid-friendly meals that I could whip up in less than 30 minutes! I made Korean-Style Steak Tacos, One-Pot Sweet Chili Lime Chicken, and Chicken Caesar Mini Flatbreads. I really enjoyed the variety of recipes I could choose from, and my kids loved how they tasted. Shipping was insanely fast! I was able to place my order and select my meals before Friday at noon, and I got my meals on Tuesday! After getting a $30 discount (which you can score too!), these 3 meals for 4-6 people cost me only $78 including shipping! If you’re looking for an easy way to get dinner on the table without spending hours in the kitchen, Home Chef is definitely worth checking out.
