I moved from scrapbooking to card making years ago, because it is a lot easier and faster to complete a handmade card vs. a scrapbook page.

We received this card kit for review purposes.

Annie’s Card Maker Club Birthday Cards Review

Annie's sends their monthly card kit in a white mailer.

Here's our first glance of what was inside.

If you're a first time member, you'll get a purple pouch with staple card making tools that you'll need for each monthly kit.

Inside of our pouch was a bone folder, an acrylic block for stamps, a “Created By” stamp, and an interchangeable piercing/embossing tool.

There are color instructions included! The theme of this month's card kit is “Tag – It's Your Birthday”. Birthday cards are always fun to make because you can never have enough!

Here, you can see the step-by-step instructions for 3 of the cards that we made.

Now, let's get a closer look at what supplies were in the box!

Card stock, decorated paper, and card stock embellishments

How fun is this color palette! It looks like I'll have more than enough to make 8 cards with all of this paper and embellishments.

Here's a closer look at the card stock embellishments.

Here is the card stock for the actual cards. The paper is very heavy weight, which gives the cards a higher quality feel.

Some gross grain pink and blue ribbon, along with some twine like pink and white string was also included.

We also got 7 stamps that can be used for sentiments on the front of or inside the cards. You can never have too many birthday sentiment stamps!

Here are the backs of the stamps.

Before we show you the actual card making process, here's a look at the completed cards. Aren't they adorable?!? I just love them!

Happy Happy Happy B-Day Card #1

Our first card used navy blue card stock for the base of the card. We used the included bone folder to score the card so the fold would lay flat.

We cut the scrapbook paper to size according to the directions with our Fiskars Rotary Paper Trimmer. I am in love with this striped paper with gold accents. We used our trusty TomBow adhesive to make adhering the paper to the card stock mess-free.

The Happy B-Day card stock sentiment was punched out.

We tied the blue ribbon and pink and white floss to the top of the tag.

Once the tag was adhered to the card, this is what our finished product looked like!

Make a Wish Card #2

Here were all of the items needed for the second card.

We pre-cut them to make the card assembly process faster.  The top of the card has a floral pattern.

And the bottom of the card has my favorite striped paper.

We put the “Make a Wish Stamp” on the acrylic block. We did have to pull out our own stamping pad for this, but you could also use a black marker instead of an ink pad.

This is what our tag looked like after stamping it.

This is what our finished card looked like!

Your Day to Shine Card #3

We cut out these materials for the third card.

This card used “slices” of card stock to create an eye catching design.

Once adhered to the cardstock, this is what it looked like.

The finished cards with the “Your Day to Shine” tags are super cute!

Celebrate You Card #4
This card used a different card orientation – horizontal vs. vertical.

This is what the finished card looked like! I love the vertical strips of paper that create interest behind the tag.

In Summary

I am in love with Annie's Card Maker Club! The paper was of high quality, and the coordinating colors and embellishments make these cards look amazing! I love these card kits because I'm not super creative either so the instructions and pre-picked card stock help a lot!

I also loved that I had plenty of extra paper, card stock, and embellishments to make more cards!
