The envelope that all of these recipe cards came in, has extras and a fun patch! This patch would be great for the apron that you get when you become a 6- or 12-month subscriber! Isn’t this card-themed patch adorable?

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 24

The Family Card game is Spoons. My kids haven’t played this game yet, so I’m glad we have instructions that they can easily follow!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 19

We also got some “Table Talk” cards, which will be great for sparking some non-standard dinner conversation!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 22

Now, let’s see how our recipes turned out!

Confetti Corn Muffins

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 5

Confetti corn muffins is the first recipe that we made. This recipe is essentially make a corn muffin with cheese, bacon, and chives!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 6

I like how there are pictures for each ingredient and kitchen tool. Perfect for little ones who don't know what some of these items are yet!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 7

The full color pictures also help them figure out what to do and what order!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 8

The featured culinary skill in this recipe is “Mixing and Scraping”. This is a skill that does need to be learned, and Raddish Kids does a great job of explaining it!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 42

This is what our confetti corn batter looked like in the mixing bowl.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 43

We added the batter to parchment baking cups (which are my favorite type of paper cup for easy release of muffins!).

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 44

This is what the muffins looked like after we finished baking them.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 46

Don't you just love how they look?

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 45

These muffins were so yummy! Can you see the bits of corn, bacon, chives, and cheese? My kids and I loved eating them – we did add some melted butter and they were perfect that way!

Baked Potato Bar

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 9

The second recipe we made was the Baked Potato Bar. This recipe is essentially making baked potatoes, with several toppings that each family member can add: ground beef chili, cheese, broccoli, green onions, sour cream, and crushed tortilla chips.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 10

One new technique that I picked up was you can spray your potatoes with cooking spray and sprinkle with salt to get a crispy, salty skin when they come out of the oven!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 11

The featured culinary skill was Oven Safety. These tips are ones that I wouldn't think to tell my kiddos about on my own, so they were good to talk about!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 13

I like how Raddish Kids includes fun food-themed mini games on their recipe cards.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 12

We started by piercing the potatoes all around with a fork.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 28

Then we sprayed the potatoes with cooking spray (I like using coconut oil cooking spray) and added salt, to get the extra crispy crust!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 29

We chopped some onion. I had to do that part since my boys are a bit young for that!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 30

We sautéed the onion to get it soft.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 31

Then added the ground beef…

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 34

Then added the diced tomatoes and other ingredients to make the chili.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 35

While the chili was simmering, I cut the broccoli into very small florets.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 36

Once everything was done, my kids helped me assemble the taco bar by putting all of the toppings into small bowls. We also added some pats of butter.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 37

This is what the baked potatoes looked like after being in the oven for an hour.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 38

This is what my baked potato looked like after I added my toppings. I loved how my kids were able to pick and choose what toppings they wanted from this baked potato bar!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 40

I also loved how healthy this recipe was and it made a great dinner for my family!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 41

Domino Shortbread Cookies

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 14

The last recipe that we made was the Domino Shortbread Cookies. This recipe had only 6 ingredients – the simpler the better!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 15

I have made shortbread before, but haven't used a ziploc bag to flatten and even it out. I love this method and am going to use it in future shortbread making sessions!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 16

The culinary skill was “Making Shortbread”. I mean, I think I need some tips here, and my kids liked reading about this skill!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 18

The game of dominoes seems to have lost its popularity, so I was happy to see we could play dominoes with our cookies!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 17

Making the dough was pretty easy. My boys measured the ingredients, put them in the mixing bowl, and used our KitchenAid Mixer to mix the dough. Here, you can see we're using the green spatula that was included in this month's kit to scrape down the sides of the bowl.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 47

We mixed the dough until it was a soft consistency.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 49

Then rolled it out using a gallon ziploc bag. We popped the bag in the refrigerator for an hour to let it harden a bit.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 50

After cutting the bag open, we marked the dough using the provided measurements from the recipe card. And then we cut along these lines that we drew.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 51

This was my sons' favorite part – adding the mini chocolate chips to create the numbers on the dominoes, and using a toothpick to imprint the dividing line.

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 52

They did go a little crazy with chocolate chips on some of the dominoes!

raddish kids february 2021 review family fun night 54

We did bake these and I meant to take a photo of the baked cookies, but they were gobbled up way to fast! 🙂

Wrap Up

Raddish Kids delivers a wonderful package of full-color, reusable recipes that were easy enough for my kids to follow! All of them were relatively simple to make, easy for little hands to help with measuring, stirring, and rolling! We really love the Baked Potato Bar, because it’s great for picky eaters and allowed us to customize our own dinners! The Confetti Corn Muffins were a mix between breakfast and dinner, so it was a nice change in taste when compared to to normal corn muffins. The Domino Shortbread Cookies were so delectable and my boys loved adding the mini chocolate chips to create the numbered dots on these fun cookies!

Raddish Kids is designed to teach kitchen skills that last your kids a lifetime! I love cooking with my kids, and the Raddish Kids recipe cards makes it a lot easier, because my kids can refer to the card – which means less work for me!
