Today, we are sharing our Gramma in a Box October 2021 Review! October’s theme is Halloween treats — perfect for celebrating the spooky time of the season!

Gramma in a Box is a cookie and candy decorating subscription box that is great for anyone ages 4 and up! You'll get almost all of the supplies you need to decorate up to 20 cookie and candy treats, including a dozen fresh homemade cut-out sugar cookies, a variety of sprinkles and colored frosting, and an easy candy craft, detailed instruction sheet with photos, as well as decorating ideas. Allergen information is also included in this box!

They supplied everything we needed to make this month’s projects!

We got two projects for this month: Ghosh-sicles and Halloween Cookies!

Gramma in a Box also includes an info card that lists all the contents of the box. They also list what you need from your kitchen, and in this case, we only needed to supply scissors, a microwave-safe bowl, paper plates, a knife and a spoon, and toothpicks which are optional.

Now, let’s take a closer look at each project that we made!

First Project: Ghosh-sicles

For this project, we needed popsicle sticks, the container of candy eyes and mouths, a microwave-safe bowl.

Gramma in a Box also includes allergen info at the back of each instruction sheet, and this has become very helpful to us since we have gluten and peanut allergies in our house!

After I melted the white chocolate for 1 minute in the microwave, we put the included parchment paper down, and then my daughter started with one popsicle stick. She carefully put a dollop of white melted chocolate on it using a plastic spoon.

Then she put the two eyes with the mouth on top of the white melted chocolate and carefully added colorful sprinkles!

She then made another two ghost-sicles, and she was careful to make made the shapes were even!

My younger son made his ghost-sicles, and spread a dollop of melted chocolate near the top of the popsicle stick using his spoon. It turned out to be an oh-so-funny-looking spooky ghost!

Project 2: Halloween Cookies

For this project, we used Halloween themed cut-out cookies, frosting, and sprinkles. We also needed a small paper plate, spoon, scissors, knives to spread the frosting, and toothpicks to help us with decorating.

My daughter started with a candy corn shaped cookie and started putting orange and yellow frosting on it!

She then added white frosting at the top and put colorful sprinkles all over it!

Here’s another candy corn shaped cookie that my son made!

My daughter then proceeded with a witch’s hat-shaped cookie. She put frosting on the cookie using the frosting bag with different black, white, yellow, and orange frosting colors. It looks so nice and yummy!

And here are all the spooky ghostsicles and cookies we decorated! These Halloween cookies and treats are so adorable and delicious to boot!

The designs on the cookies are simple but the are so cute. My kids really enjoyed decorating and eating these cookies!

Wrap Up

My daughter, son, and I had so much fun with this month's Gramma in a Box! This box helped us get into the Halloween spirit by making these fun Ghosh-sicles and candy corn, witch hat, ghost, and pumpkin themed cookies. We love Gramma in a Box – it helps make spending quality time as a family more fun and exciting with each month's seasonal projects! Cookie decorating could not be made easier.
