They supplied everything we needed to make this month’s projects! We also got a Patriotic Chinese Yo-Yo which my 9-year old son got a kick out of!

Gramma in a Box also includes an info card that lists all of all the contents of the box. They also list what you need from your kitchen and in this case, we only needed to supply scissors, a microwave safe bowl, paper plates, knife and a spoon, and toothpicks which are optional.

Gramma in a Box also had a September Theme Contest and sending of entries were closed last August 1 – I wonder what the winning theme could be! I've seen them solicit ideas for upcoming boxes, so I'm guessing you'll able to enter the contest in upcoming months!

Now, let’s take a closer look at each project that my kids made!

First Project: Pretzel Sparklers

My kids made the pretzel sparklers first. This project used the package of pretzel rods, sprinkles, and the melting chocolate. We also needed a microwave safe bowl, spoon, and a paper plate for this.

Gramma in a Box also includes an allergen info at the back of each instruction sheet and this has become very helpful to us since we have a gluten and peanut allergy in our house!

After we melted the white chocolate for 1.5 minutes in the microwave, my kids put melting chocolate around the half area of the pretzel rod using a spoon.

Project 2: Patriotic Cookie Decorating

The second project is the Patriotic Cookie Decorating and we needed the cookies, frosting, and sprinkles that were provided in the box. We also needed scissors, paper plate, and knife.

Each of my kids had a fair share of decorating all the cookies!

They created patriotic stars and flags that used the red, white, and blue icing bags! This is one thing that I really love about Gramma in a Box – not having to mix my own icing with differenct colors – which is super laborious!

They also enjoyed putting on different sprinkles for each cookie!

And here are all the cookies my kids decorated for this month’s Patriotic Cookies and Candy theme!

They enjoyed snacking on these yummy treats afterwards!

Wrap Up

My kids always love when Gramma in a Box is delivered to us! We were a bit late getting around to decorating July's Patriotic themed cookies and pretzel treats, but my kids still enjoyed eating them!!! I personally loved Gramma in a Box because the cookie and candy decorating projects spark my kids' creativity and it also helps us to spend quality time as a family. Cookie decorating could not be made easier! Gramma in a Box includes pre-baked cookies, icing bags, sprinkles, and melting chocolate – all pre-measured and delivered to your door. We cannot wait for Gramma in a Box next month! Be sure to order by August 6 to get the August Box – the August theme is Summer Sea Life!
