Gramma in a Box – “Under the Sea” August 2021 Cookies and Candy Review
Gramma in a Box is shipped via USPS and it was sealed in a white, padded Priority Mail shipping bag. They always include a “Best By” date on the envelope to ensure ultimate freshness!
All of Gramma in a Box’s goodies are sent in their signature red box. This month's box was packed especially full!
This month’s theme is “Under the Sea” – a box that includes sea life themed candy and cookie decorating projects!
They supplied everything we needed to make this month’s projects! We also got a cute red lobster that my son loved!
We got two projects for this month: The Pretzel Sparklers and the Patriotic Candy Decorating!
Gramma in a Box also includes an info card that lists all of all the contents of the box. They also list what you need from your kitchen and in this case, we only needed to supply scissors, a microwave safe bowl, a paper plate, knife and a spoon, and toothpicks which are optional.
A separate info card is also included that lists all of the social media channels that Gramma in a Box uses. You can follow them in many social media platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube!
Now, let’s take a closer look at each project that my 9-year old son and I made!
First Project: Clams on Coral
We mad the Clams on Coral project first. This project used the vanilla wafers, white pearl and candy eyes, white sprinkles, melting chocolate and rice krispie cereal. We also needed a microwave safe bowl, spoon, and a paper plate for this.
Gramma in a Box also includes an allergen info at the back of each instruction sheet and this has become very helpful to us since we have a gluten and peanut allergy in our house!
After we melted the white chocolate for 1.5 minutes in the microwave, we put melting chocolate on each vanilla wafer and then added some white sprinkles for a bubble effect.
After adding the white candy pearl, we could put the clamshell together.
We also used a dab of melted chocolate to the top of each clam and added the candy eyes.
How cute are these little guys! We also mixed the remainder of the melted chocolate with the rice krispies to make a bed of “coral” for the clams. That's what they are sitting on!
Project 2: Sea Life Cookies
The second project is the Sea Life Cookie Decorating and we needed the cookies, frosting, and sprinkles that were provided in the box. We also needed scissors, paper plate, and knife. We also use toothpicks to help move the frosting around where needed!
My son really loves decorating cookies! He has become quite good with creating his own designs and with piping icing in general!
Here is one of his finished starfish!
I made this mermaid tail. I used my son's starfish as inspiration for my design!
My son likes to mix up our cookies on plates and asks his siblings and Dad to guess who decorated each cookie!
And here are all the cookies and clams we decorated! These cookies and treats are adorable and delicious!
Wrap Up
My son said this month's Gramma in a Box was his best cookie decorating session yet! He was so proud of his creations and his siblings loved gobbling up these yummy goodies! While my other 2 kiddos weren't around for this cookie decorating session, I still enjoyed spending quality time with my son. Cookie decorating is so easy with Gramma in a Box – they send fun, seasonal themed projects that my kiddos love! You get pre-baked cookies, icing bags, sprinkles, and melting chocolate – all pre-measured and delivered to your door. We cannot wait for Gramma in a Box next month! Be sure to order by September 10 to get the September Box – the September theme is Back to School!
